Here's a great LAL from Ballard Designs for half the price:

And if that's still too rich for your blood, here's a LAL from Target that is a quarter of the price of the Ballard Designs LAL!

I wanted to give you all a peek at what I've discovered since I started this blog about finding look alikes. It's a little secret I don't think the home industry wants to talk about very often. It's that all the decor lines, from the most expensive down to the imported knock-offs are copying one another. Somehow I just imagined that Target was ripping off Pottery Barn, or Overstock was riding on Restoration Hardware's coattails, and while that may be true, Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware are doing the same thing to more expensive brands, and to each other.
Case in point: Let's look a a trio of similar glass pendants from three of the brands we talk about here the most.
First up is this guy from Pottery Barn.
Retails for $249
Next we have a version from Restoration Hardware
Retails for $425-$475
And finally here it is from Ballard Designs
Retails for $149-$449
There may be some slight differences, especially in dimensions and finishes, but it doesn't take a genius to see that these are all basically the same light. When one brand hits it big with a certain product, you can bet the others will soon follow suit. So don't feel too bad about snagging that look alike from Overstock instead of Pottery Barn. They are playing the same game themselves!
