Pottery Barn Peyton Rope Lantern

We're kicking off a few days of look alike match-ups from the new retailer, Birch Lane.  They really are a stand out source for LAL treasures and I've found so many that I thought a little series of posts just might be in order.  Plus, we have a little surprise planned for the end of the week so be sure to stay tuned and keep in mind your favorite LAL from Birch Lane!

Here's today's original, the Peyton Rope Lantern from Pottery Barn. Decor Look Alikes | Pottery Barn Peyton Rope Lantern

Everybody’s Doing It: Quartz Votive Candle Holder

I've heard it said that quartz is the new coral.  That kind of trend tracking is above my pay grade but I have noticed that everyone seems to be offering a quartz decor item or two.  Here's one of the first ones I noticed from Williams-Sonoma:

Williams-Sonoma Clear Quartz Votive Holder

Williams-Sonoma Clear Quartz Votive Holder

Retails for $350

Seems pricey to me, but a little searching and I now know it can get a lot worse.  Take this example from Neiman Marcus:

Neiman Marcus Clear Quartz Votive Holders

Retails for $440-$865

Yowzers!  That's some serious moolah!  Fortunately there are several more reasonably priced  options out there.

Arcadian Home Quartz Votive

Arcadian Home Faux Quartz Votive Holder

Retails for $170

$170 is a lot better than $400 plus but still way too pricey for me.  Let's get real here, there is no way I'm gonna pay 3 figures for something that sits on a shelf, and did anyone else notice that little word "faux" thrown in there?  Yep, that last one isn't even real quartz!  From here on all the LALs  are real quartz, handmade by mother nature. Here's what I came up with in the double digit range.

West Elm Crystal Votive Holders

West Elm Crystal Votive Holders

Retail for $69

Sugarboo & Co Quartz Votive

Sugarboo & Co Quartz Votive

Retails for $45

Etsy Quartz Crystal Votive Candle Holder

Etsy's Natural Art World Quartz Crystal Votive Candle Holder

Retails for $38

So we went from a high of $440 to a much more reasonable $38.  That's the power of look alike shopping people!

Most Pinned LALs: #10 Pottery Barn Red Mercury Glass Pillar Holders

We're approaching 3000 Pinterest followers and to celebrate, I thought I would bring you a little countdown of our top 10 most pinned look alikes, and add a review and update.

First up is this post from the holiday season of 2012.  We featured two LALs from World Market and Shop Wild Things for the Pottery Barn Red Mercury Glass Pillar Holders.  Here's the original pin, and post.

Here's the Pottery Barn Version:

Red Mercury Glass Pillar Holders

Originally Retailed for $29.50 - $49.50

Since this is a holiday item, it's not kept in stock year round.  All that is left of this year's stock is the small size, which is now clearanced to $19.99, should you care to snap one up.

The first LAL was from World Market's  Holiday Shop.

Recycled Red Glass Pillar Holders

Originally Retailed for $19.99-$29.99

They are no longer available but I wouldn't be surprised to find them back again for the holidays 2014.  They do still have an alternative item in stock at a great price.

Red Mercury Glass Hurricane Candleholders

The second LAL from the original post was from Shop Wild Things
